Can I try it for free?
Yes. A free key gets 1,000 credits a month with no card, on every endpoint and MCP tool, deep lookups included.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Calls answer 402 with the code quota_exceeded until next month's free credits or a credit pack. Two things spend credits without a call, and only if you set them up. A watch costs 1 credit a day, charged a day ahead, and pauses when the balance cannot pay. Auto top-up, off unless you turn it on, buys the pack you chose with your saved card.
Do unused credits roll over?
Free credits reset on the first day of each month, in UTC. Prepaid credits from a pack never expire.
Am I charged for failed calls?
No. Credits are taken when a call starts and given back if it fails on our side. Invalid items in a batch are never charged.
Is the MCP server priced the same?
Yes. It runs the same code path, so a tool call costs the same credits as the matching endpoint, from the same balance.
Do I need a key for the MCP server?
Yes, the same key as the API, sent as an Authorization header. Apps that take only a URL, such as the Claude and ChatGPT connectors, put the key at the end of the URL.
